  • ✍🏽 July 31 [August Book Challenge] QOTD: What’s a challenge you wish to conquer in the month of August? —————— Hi inks! I can’t believe July is actually over 😭. This month has definitely been one of my favorites out of the year just based on all the wonderful trips, memories, family-oriented events, and graduation celebrations I got to experience. Home is where love resides, memories are created, friends always belong, and laughter never ends❞ ⠀⠀ QOTD: What do you consider your true home? —————— Birth • Location • Home ⠀⠀ In colloquial [American] English, if you ask someone where they are “from” they might decide to answer with either their birthplace location, their current location, or where their heart is located — the true home. Many times we [Americans] are judged for answering in those ways, but just imagine a scenario where the food, language, music, cultural references, traditional clothing, family values are different from the country you live in than what you practice inside your house. That’s how many of us Americans live. ⠀⠀ I used to [and in some ways still do] have an identity crisis of where my home truly was. As a first-generation Haitian American, I was never fully one or the other; yet for some reason our society makes us feel we must pick a side. I couldn’t because in reality it was both. My house is built on American soil, but my heart was at the bottom of the crystal blue Caribbean Sea. ⠀⠀ And that’s okay. ⠀⠀ Multiple places can make us feel at home. Which is why we have the ability to answer the question is so many ways. When you’re in a space with your closest friends that can be your home. When you are traveling to a country where all of your family is from. Even though you experience that for the first time, it can feel right at home. Where you were born, raised, and continuously want to live because it’s all you known can always be your home. ⠀⠀ Home is subjective, something that comes from the heart.   • ✍🏽July 17 QOTD: What are some tips/tricks you use to keep your bookstagram feed how you like it? —————— Good afternoon inklings! I hope everyone is having a splendid Wednesday ♡ I’m currently still enjoying the beauty of the Caribbean (the motherland), so there isn’t much to update other than I’m having the time of my life. I’ve been having more margaritas than chai lattes, so here’s another nice throwback of what my life used to be 😂. ⠀⠀ But apart from vacationing, I’ve actually been doing plenty of BTS work for my blog. Lately, I haven’t been 100% satisfied with my feed. I’m in love with my color scheme, but not so much my content? I think it’s because have such a uniformed vision in mind [curse my idealistic habits] that hasn’t reached its full potential. So, I’ve been tirelessly going through many of my inspirations, seeing how they take their feeds and how I can implement/develop it in my vision. ⠀⠀ Mainly, I so badly want to incorporate more reading and traveling. I tried it when I went to NYC and I’ve been experimenting with this trip too. The results still aren’t my favorite, but at least I’m seeing what I like and don’t like. It’s one of the reasons I haven’t posted much about it. I’m not exactly sure what to do yet. If you implement traveling into your feed tell me your tips! Is it hoping to find buildings similar to your color scheme or do you seek them out? What about outfits and poses?   • ✍🏽July 8 QOTD: What are some essentials items that you always pack on a trip/vacation? —————— Hi inks! As I have said before, but in case you miss out on my instastories — I got a new phone and I’m the midst of my backup, my photos didn’t transfer😭. All the posts I had planned have disappeared and I’ve recently been so busy to take new ones. So I hope you don’t mind some ~deja vu~ set-ups from different angles lol ⠀⠀ In better news, I’m going on my trip this week and I am BEYOND excited, so I will most definitely have photos from my trip to post! I’m still debating on what books to bring and realistically how many I can really fit in my suitcase 😬.   • ✍🏽 June 28 [ #ad GIVEAWAY ] QOTD: What is one thing you accomplished so far in 2019? —————— Inks, can you believe that half of the year has already flown by? Where has the time gone 😭. ⠀⠀ In January, My best friend and I made a list of resolutions (some of you may remember my first posts mentioning it) that we periodically check on one another to see how we progressed with our goals. ⠀⠀ One of my goals among many was to consistently maintain my Bookstagram and I can proudly say that after 6 months, I have exceeded my own expectations ♡ I’m currently so in love with my theme/feed, so thankful for all the book clubs, groups, and chats I get to apart of and because of it met so many AMAZING people, so proud of all my connections with authors, publishers, and companies to the point where I get to represent them (it still feels so surreal😭), and lastly — completely enjoying/being myself to the fullest with my love for books! ⠀⠀ I know I say it all the time, but I truly believe words can’t express it wholeheartedly. As I have said before, but in case you miss out on my instastories — I got a new phone and I’m the midst of my backup, my photos didn’t transfer😭. All the posts I had planned have disappeared and I’ve recently been so busy to take new ones. So I hope you don’t mind some ~deja vu~ set-ups from different angles lol ⠀⠀ In better news, I’m going on my trip this week and I am BEYOND excited, so I will most definitely have photos from my trip to post! I’m still debating on what books to bring and realistically how many I can really fit in my suitcase 😬.   • ✍🏽 June 28 [ #ad GIVEAWAY ] QOTD: What is one thing you accomplished so far in 2019? —————— Inks, can you believe that half of the year has already flown by? Where has the time gone 😭. ⠀⠀ In January, My best friend and I made a list of resolutions (some of you may remember my first posts mentioning it) that we periodically check on one another to see how we progressed with our goals. ⠀⠀ One of my goals among many was to consistently maintain my Bookstagram and I can proudly say that after 6 months, I have exceeded my own expectations ♡ I’m currently so in love with my theme/feed, so thankful for all the book clubs, groups, and chats I get to apart of and because of it met so many AMAZING people, so proud of all my connections with authors, publishers, and companies to the point where I get to represent them (it still feels so surreal😭), and lastly — completely enjoying/being myself to the fullest with my love for books! ⠀⠀ I know I say it all the time, but I truly believe words can’t express it wholeheartedly.
